Leading two-wheeler manufacturer Royal Enfield reported selling 75,935 motorcycles in February 2024, a 6% YoY increase. Between domestic and export sales, the company sold 71,544 units overall during the same period last year. On the domestic market, Enfield sold 67,922 units in February of the current year.
The brand saw a 5% YoY increase as a result of selling 64,436 units in February of the prior year. The Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer exported 8,013 motorbikes in February of this year, up from 7,108 in the same month previous year. As a result, sales rose by 13% on an annual basis.
Sales Are Driven by Royal Enfield 350cc Models
The majority of Royal Enfield's output is still produced by its 350cc series, which includes the Classic 350, Bullet 350, Hunter 350, and Meteor 350. The company is situated in Chennai. Out of the 64,810 units sold in February of last year, 66,157 bikes in the 350cc range were shipped last month, representing a 2% YoY increase.
Together with the Himalayan 450 and Scram 411, the remaining models—most notably the 650cc lineup that includes the Interceptor, Continental GT, Super Meteor, and Shotgun—generated a monthly sales volume of 9,778 units in February. Enfield sold 6,734 units in this sector in the same time frame, contributing to this year's noteworthy 45% YoY gain.
The Shotgun 650, which ranges in price from Rs 3.59 lakh to Rs 3.73 lakh (ex-showroom), was introduced at the beginning of the year. In the upcoming months, Royal Enfield will introduce a number of models, including the Bobber 350, Scram 450, Roadster 450, and Scrambler 650.
"Over the last few months, while our new motorcycle launches have done exceedingly well, our existing motorcycles have also contributed to our strong growth momentum across bookings and retails," stated B Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield, in reference to the company's performance for the month of February 2024.
