Copper tubes for air conditioning and refrigeration will be manufactured in Gujarat in the near future.
In this context, the GoG's Industries and Mines Department signed an MoU with Mettube Copper India Pvt Ltd, a leading company in the production and development of copper tubes in Gandhinagar.
Industries Minister Shri Balvantsinh Rajput, Minister of State for Industries Shri Harsh Sanghvi, and MP Shri Narhari Amin were also in attendance.
Mettube India Pvt Ltd will establish a cutting-edge copper tube manufacturing plant in Sanand-II Industrial Area, with production expected to begin in January 2024.
To achieve Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's goal of self-reliance, a copper tube manufacturing plant will be established for the first time in India and Gujarat.
The proposed plant will be built in Gujarat as part of the Central Government's incentives to promote copper tube manufacturing in the country.
By producing fifth-generation copper tubes, the proposed plant will help reduce the carbon footprint of future devices.
On this occasion, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel stated that the state government would provide the necessary assistance to get the proposed plant up and running in Gujarat.
Mettube Copper India's Chairman, Shri Apurv Bagri, stated that the company operates a large plant in Malaysia.
World-class appliance manufacturers primarily use high efficiency eco-friendly copper tube products. They have now selected Sanand in Gujarat to begin the proposed copper tube project.
He also stated that the eco system of the first phase of this proposed project will provide direct and indirect employment to approximately 1500 people.
This MoU was signed by Shri Kamal Dayani, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, and Shri Apurv Bagri, President MetDist Group.
On this occasion, Chief Principal Secretary to the CM Shri Kailashnathan, Industries Commissioner Shri Rahul Gupta, and senior officers and associates of Mettube India were also present.
