On Wednesday, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) declared that its operational portfolio has exceeded 10,000 megawatts (MW), providing the country's grid with clean, inexpensive, and dependable electricity. The operating portfolio of AGEL includes 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity, 1,401 MW of wind, and 7,393 MW of solar power. In a regulatory filing, the business stated, "The milestone is a testament to AGEL and its development partners firmly moving towards the goal of 45,000 GW renewable energy by 2030."
According to AGEL, its 10,934 MW operating portfolio would prevent over 21 million tons of CO2 emissions yearly and power over 5.8 million homes.
"We are honored to be the first das hazari in the renewables space in India," stated Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani. Adani Green Energy went from being only a concept to investigate clean energy to attaining an incredible 10,000 MW in installed capacity in less than ten years. In that time, the company has not only imagined but also actualized a greener future. This accomplishment demonstrates the speed and scope with which the Adani Group seeks to support India's shift to inexpensive, sustainable, and clean energy. In our quest towards 45,000 MW by 2030, we are developing the world’s largest renewable energy plant in Khavda – a 30,000 MW project unrivaled on the global arena. AGEL is shaping global standards rather than merely setting them.
The operational portfolio of AGEL has received certifications for being "water positive for plants with more than 200 MW capacity," "zero waste-to-landfill," and "single-use plastic free."
Regarding AGEL's contribution to India's renewable energy targets, the company is focusing on greenfield expansion, accounts for approximately 11% of the nation's installed utility-scale solar and wind capacity, contributes to more than 15% of the country's utility-scale solar installations, and has directly created over 3,200 jobs.
