On Wednesday, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) declared that a 180 MW solar power facility located in Devikot, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, has been put into operation. According to the statement, the facility and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) have a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
According to the business, the 180 MW solar facility would generate over 540 million energy units yearly, which will power more than 1.1 lakh houses and offset about 0.39 million tons of CO2 emissions. AGEL has implemented horizontal single axis solar trackers (HSAT) with next-generation bifacial solar PV modules to maximize generation by improving module efficiency and monitoring the sun all day long.
Water saving in the arid Jaisalmer region is made possible by the plant's waterless robotic module cleaning technologies. AGEL's renewable energy assets can be monitored in real time thanks to the Energy Network Operation Centre (ENOC), which is based on a secure digital cloud platform and improves operational performance.
With the successful activation of this facility, AGEL now has the greatest operational renewable production capacity in India at 9,784 MW, and its operational solar portfolio has expanded to 6,243 MW.
Utility-scale grid-connected solar, wind, and hybrid renewable energy facilities are developed, owned, and managed by AGEL. AGEL now operates an almost 9.8 GW renewable portfolio spanning 12 states, with a locked-in growth trajectory up to 21.8 GW. The company's goal is to reach 45 GW by 2030 in line with India's decarbonization objectives.
