As reported by sources, Apple will begin production of its AirPods wireless earbuds at Foxconn's facility in Hyderabad. Foxconn plans to begin large-scale manufacturing at the Hyderabad plant in December 2024, with a $400 million investment.

The Foxconn Hyderabad factory will produce AirPods, and mass production is expected to begin in December, according to source.

On a global scale, Apple's AirPods lead the way in true wireless stereo (TWS). According to Canalys, Apple held approximately 36 percent of the TWS market share in the fourth quarter of 2022, securing its dominance.

Following Apple, Samsung had a 7.5 percent market share, while Xiaomi had 4.4 percent, Boat had 4 percent, and Oppo had 3 percent. According to the report, Xiaomi began producing TWS devices in India this year at the Optiemus Electronics facility in Noida.

Meanwhile, a reliable source claims that the upcoming iPhone SE 4, the fourth generation of the smartphone series set to succeed the iPhone SE (2022), will include a USB Type-C port. Apple's move to replace the Lightning port with USB Type-C is expected to begin with the rumoured iPhone 15 lineup next month, and it is likely that this transition will extend to future models as well.
