Aragen Life Sciences, a contract research, development, and manufacturing services provider for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agrochemical, and animal health industries, has opened a $3 million formulations manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. The facility, which is located at the Mallapur Campus in Hyderabad, is over 12,000 square feet in size and is equipped to support clinical manufacturing of various dosage forms, including oral solids, liquids, topicals, and films, according to a statement from the company.
This expansion strengthens Aragen's early-stage New Chemical Entity (NCE) development capabilities while also increasing its flexibility to meet customer demand for clinical supplies in a variety of dosage forms. Aragen can now provide comprehensive clinical program support to its customers, from drug discovery to Phase I-III clinical supply of tablets, capsules, liquids, semisolids, and films for clinical use.
According to the company, the facility is equipped with a wide range of formulation technologies, including wet granulation, roller compaction, film coating, spray drying, tableting, capsule filling, bottle filling, and blister packing. It has been designed with future expansion in mind, with plans to add nano-milling and hot melt extrusion capabilities next year to keep Aragen at the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation.
This facility has received approvals from Indian regulatory authorities, including the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) and the Drug Control Administration (DCA), Aragen said.
