D'Decor, a home furnishing brand, plans to increase its manufacturing and warehousing capacity by 50% and add two new robotic warehouses, according to Sanjay Arora, managing director of D'Decor. The brand refused to answer questions about the investment figures.
Currently, the company operates five manufacturing plants in Tarapur, Maharashtra, totaling 20 lakh square feet and employing approximately 6,000 people. These factories produce 140 000 metres of fabric per day.
"We will expand our manufacturing capacity by opening a 6.5 lakh sq ft plant in Maharashtra." This project will be finished in four stages. "The first phase is scheduled to go live in March 2024," he said.
"By adding new manufacturing and warehousing capacity, we expect our domestic sales and exports to grow by 50 per cent," he said.
The brand is currently available in over 1,800 outlets across India and offers 15,000 SKUs.
"Every year, we introduce 3,000 new SKUs." Curtains account for 70% of all business. "We also have products in other categories such as upholstery, bedding, blinds, and rugs," he added.
"At the moment, we have a presence in 15 EBOs and 30 franchise outlets, with the remainder being multi-brand outlets." Every year, we intend to open 3-4 EBOs. "Our EBOs are typically 3,000 square feet in size," he added.
Currently, MBOs account for 80% of the brand's revenue, with the remaining 20% split between EBOs and franchise outlets. According to him, the brand's EBOs have increased by 17-20% year on year. The brand, which closed the previous fiscal year at Rs 2,000 crore, expects to grow 11% this fiscal year over last.
