 Textile Industry Growth

Industry insiders and experts stated that e-commerce platforms have significantly transformed Vietnam’s textile and garment sector. By the beginning of 2024, the firm had handled almost 500,000 orders on Shopee, amounting to more than VND13 billion ($516,000). This was accomplished by customizing product designs to meet consumer preferences and partnering with e-commerce platforms for effective marketing and logistics. Going forward, ABH intends to broaden its reach on more platforms.

The company has utilized digital resources like 3D applications to enhance the customer experience, allowing shoppers to see styles and colors prior to making a purchase. Viet stated that the digitization initiatives of May 10 have resulted in a steady annual revenue growth rate of approximately 10 percent.

Social media has increasingly influenced how behavior is shaped. Giang recommended that textile producers create their brands on social media and take seasonal trends into account when designing and introducing new products. For instance, items that are less reliant on size, such as athletic apparel and one-size-fits-all clothing, are especially ideal for selling online.

To enhance support for businesses, VITAS is partnering with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon Global Selling Vietnam to aid firms in creating business plans and offering personalized guidance. These initiatives seek to provide textile producers with resources and insight to thrive in the digital realm.

As per a report from the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), the percentage of textile companies implementing e-commerce strategies rose from 7-8 percent in 2021 to more than 20 percent by the conclusion of the previous year.
