To produce sunroofs in the nation, sunroof manufacturer Gabriel India and the Netherlands-based Inalfa Roof Systems signed a technical collaboration and alliance agreement.
Inalfa Gabriel Sunroof Systems (IGSS), a new manufacturing plant to be established in Chennai by the two businesses, would go into operation in the first quarter of 2024 after receiving a combined investment of 170 crore. The factory will be able to create 200,000 sunroofs annually. The $2 billion Anand Group's listed subsidiary is called Gabriel India.
After getting regulatory permissions later this year, IGSS will be transformed into a joint venture between Inalfa Roof Systems Group and Gabriel India, with the former controlling 51%. According to Anjali Singh, executive chairperson of Anand Group, the demand for sunroofs is rising quickly in India.
Gabriel India is one of the Top 10 suspension manufacturers worldwide and a market leader for creating the first Ride Control Products for the Indian automobile industry. Shock absorbers, struts, front forks, seat dampers, and cabin dampers are among its product offerings. Additionally, it is one of the few brands in India that have a sizable following across a variety of industry sectors.
It has a solid reputation in the market for having long-lasting connections with almost all OEMs, a diverse aftermarket product portfolio, and a rising export presence on all six continents. It has submitted more than 75 patent applications for items and techniques to date and has a very strong R&D capabilities.
