GreenH Electrolysis announced plans to build a 1 gigatonne (GW) electrolyzer manufacturing plant in India on July 26. GreenH Electrolysis is a collaboration between Spain's H2B2 Electrolysis Technologies and India's GR Group.
"GreenH Electrolysis announces the opening of its first, 1 GW, state-of-the-art, PEM electrolyser manufacturing plant in India," the company said in a statement.
The facility will be 97,000 square feet in size and will be located at Reliance MET Industrial Park in Haryana's Jhajjar district. The company plans to begin operations in October of this year.
"We are all set to begin operations in October with an initial capacity of 100 MW and deliver cutting-edge green hydrogen technology electrolysers to our Indian customers," said Dhiman Roy, Director and CEO of GreenH Electrolysis. We've taken a large area in order to quickly ramp up."
The facility will be built in two stages. He added that the first phase will be 500 MW, followed by another 500 MW in phase 2, for which additional land area will be purchased.
