Hyundai said on Friday that production of its newest compact SUV, the EXTER, has begun at its advanced manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) built the first EXTER in the 'Ranger-Khaki' colour at their factory in Sriperumbudur, which is located roughly 45 kilometres west of Chennai.
"At Hyundai, we have always been driven to establish the industry's best manufacturing processes, achieving product excellence, and instilling a higher sense of delight in our cherished customers." "HMIL's state-of-the-art production facility harmoniously integrates over 700 4th generation robots and highly skilled HMIL workforce to create superior mobility experiences," said company MD and CEO Unsoo Kim.
"With the Hyundai Exrer, we are venturing into a new segment that further enhances HMIL's position as a full-range SUV manufacturer," Kim said in a news release.
The Exter will be released on July 10th, according to Hyundai Motor India. The Exter, which boasts a smart electric sunroof and an integrated dashcam with dual cameras, will be the first HMIL micro-SUV to offer over 60 connected features via Bluelink technology, establishing it as the most technologically advanced SUV in its segment.
