Sandvik Coromant, the world's leading metal-cutting company, has partnered with Indonesian industrial automation machine manufacturer PT Weiss Tech and DMG Mori to hold a Technology Seminar, inviting clients to learn more about Sandvik Coromant's tool solutions to support the topic of process integration.

The event drew 93 people from 43 different companies in general engineering, automotive, agriculture, die and mold, and food and beverage. Customers included Pakarti Riken, Meiwa Mold, and Petrokimia Gresik, as well as ATMI IGI and Surabaya State University.

The event, held in Sidoarjo, East Java, provided an opportunity for Sandvik Coromant's key customers to expand their knowledge of a variety of tooling solutions from the metal cutting expert, such as the CoroMill Dura range of solid end mills and CoroPlexYT for Y-axis turning.

The first session of the Technology Day looked at how a 5-axis cutting method might improve die and mold product outputs. Djamal Harsja, Solid Round Tools specialist at Sandvik Coromant Indonesia, led this class, which focused on the CoroMill® Dura.

The second session concentrated on process integration with a multi-axis turning center to boost productivity. Tri Yatno, Regional Sales Manager for Sandvik Coromant Indonesia, hosted this on the Y-axis turning.

Customers were also given the option to tour the facilities and see real demonstrations of the tools presented, which helped to enhance consumer engagement and knowledge.

"This technology day is one of many experiences Sandvik Coromant has arranged with its customers," said Tri Yatno, Sandvik Coromant's Regional Sales Manager for Indonesia. "We believe that in order for our customers to get the most out of our products, they must learn from the experts." In addition to live product demonstrations, providing a platform for customers to talk and ask questions allows them to freely engage with our product specialists to improve their skills and knowledge.

"Collaboration is key," Yatno added. "Continuous collaboration is one of the most beneficial services we offer, whether it's with partners like DMG Mori and PT Weiss Tech that make events like this possible, or collaborating with our customers to help increase their productivity." The response we received confirmed the success of the Technology Day, and we are always searching for possibilities to conduct additional events like this."
