Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn, which entered India in 2005 and began manufacturing there, is optimistic about India becoming the world's manufacturing hub. "If there are no major changes in the future," said Young Liu, Chairman of Hon Hai Technologies, "India will become a new manufacturing centre in the world." He went on to say that Taiwan would be India's most trustworthy and dependable partner.

"The supply chain ecosystem that took over 30 years to build in China will take time to transfer to India," he added, "but fortunately, we already have experience in this area, so the time will be relatively shorter." There are numerous opportunities for the development of the local electronics industry."

Liu also acknowledged that Foxconn is continuing to expand its presence in India in response to customer needs.

Foxconn's current activities in India are primarily focused on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) final assembly, but the company is poised to take a proactive approach in the realm of essential components to strengthen its competitive edge in the country. "Our key components in India will first and foremost be related to consumer electronics," said Chairman Liu. However, there will be EV key components in India next year. In terms of whether key components will be delivered this year, I believe shipments will have to wait until next year. Nonetheless, relevant construction is underway this year. So, this will have to wait until next year." The company will make key investments in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.
