The four industrial corridors—Amritsar-Kolkata, Chennai-Bengaluru, East Coast Economic Corridor, and Bengaluru-Mumbai—have played a pivotal role in helping India establish itself as a global manufacturing powerhouse, according to an official statement released on Tuesday. The statement comes as the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) celebrates the eighth anniversary of these significant industrial corridors.

The DPIIT emphasized that the creation of these corridors, including the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC), Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC), East Coast Economic Corridor (ECEC), and Bengaluru-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (BMIC), has been a critical step toward transforming India's industrial landscape.

Each of these corridors was strategically designed to integrate industry and infrastructure, aiming to create world-class connectivity that supports rapid industrialisation. The corridors feature high-speed rail networks, modern ports, dedicated logistics hubs, and advanced airports, setting new benchmarks for infrastructure development across the country.

Furthermore, the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), spanning Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, has played a leading role in India's Silent Industrial Revolution, fostering industrial growth and enhancing economic opportunities in these regions. These corridors collectively support India's ongoing efforts to become a manufacturing hub on the global stage.
