Lam Research Corporation announced its strategic initiative to expand its global semiconductor fabrication equipment supply chain to include India. The company is actively assessing capabilities across various segments of the supply chain and exploring collaborations with India-based suppliers to meet the demand for precision components, custom parts, high purity gas delivery systems, and other assemblies essential for cutting-edge semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment.

As the demand for semiconductors continues to rise, there is a growing need for collaboration and global engagement in terms of expertise, intellectual property, materials, and talent. Leveraging its more than 20 years of presence in India and its proximity to customers in Asia, Lam Research aims to enhance its supply chain capabilities and strengthen its position in the semiconductor market.

Karthik Rammohan, Group Vice President and Head of Global Operations at Lam Research, emphasized the significance of this initiative. By leveraging the infrastructure and talent of Lam Research's India Centre of Engineering, the company aims to drive supply chain growth in India while also contributing to improved performance, sustainability, and enhanced capabilities for its customers in the region and across Asia.
