Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced today its plans to establish Mitsubishi Electric Intelligent Manufacturing Technology (China) Group Co., Ltd. in Suzhou, China, on April 1. The new company will serve as the headquarters for the company’s Factory Automation (FA) systems business in China, overseeing product planning, development, manufacturing, and sales. By creating an autonomous business operation, Mitsubishi Electric aims to enhance competitiveness and swiftly respond to the evolving needs of industrial customers in the fast-changing Chinese market.
Mitsubishi Electric has long been expanding its FA systems business in China through local manufacturing, sales, and service bases. Until now, product planning and development were primarily conducted in Japan. However, with the rapid growth of smart factories and increasing demands for higher productivity, Chinese industrial customers require more diverse and advanced FA solutions. In response, the company sees an urgent need for faster product development, timely supply, and greater flexibility amid intensifying competition.
By establishing this new entity, Mitsubishi Electric will create a fully localized operation that aligns more closely with the Chinese market. The company plans to strengthen local product planning and development, build an integrated supply chain, and invest in talent acquisition and development. With an agile and autonomous management approach, Mitsubishi Electric is committed to delivering innovative solutions tailored to the evolving needs of China’s industrial sector.
