Noel Tata names new Tata Semiconductor head months after Ratan Tata's death

Tata Electronics Private Limited, a top player in the electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industry in India, has named KC Ang as President and Head of its Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing Private Limited. KC will report to Dr. Randhir Thakur, the CEO & MD of Tata Electronics, and will be responsible for Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing’s advanced AI-enabled foundry operations and to develop strategic partnerships to support Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing becoming a global leader in chip manufacturing.

KC brings with him over 30 years of industry experience in the foundry business and has extensive expertise in fab start-up and management, operations and technology transfers, and customer, supplier, and industry relationship management.

KC's global experience has taken him all over the world, including Malaysia, Germany, the United States of America, and China. Most recently he was the President – Asia and Chairman – China at Global Foundries, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing, and spent over 15 years in this role.KC hails from Malaysia, and he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University and his Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Texas.
