Polyplex is planned to enhance its market presence and meet the growing need for premium films. At present, Polyplex is running at maximum capacity, manufacturing 90,000 MTPA of BOPET and BOPP films. To improve its abilities, the company plans to increase its BOPET film production by 52,400 MTPA. Moreover, the suggested capacity is scheduled to be implemented in the initial half of FY 2028. Polyplex has declared a significant investment of approximately 558 INR-Crore to set up a BOPET – biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate– production facility in India. In an exchange filing, it was noted that the company’s board of directors approved this bold plan at a recent meeting.
BOPET films are polyester-based films recognized for their durability, transparency, and outstanding barrier characteristics. These films are commonly utilized in areas like flexible food packaging, electrical insulation, and insulations, addressing the increasing needs of different industries.
