The commerce ministry said on Tuesday that Samsung Electronics' affiliate Samsung Display planned to spend 4.1 trillion won ($3.14 billion) in Asan, South Korea, until 2026 to manufacture sophisticated organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display panels used in tablets and PCs. The investment is part of a previously stated strategy by Samsung Electronics and affiliates to invest 60.1 trillion won in regions outside of Seoul over the next ten years.
