Skanda Aerospace Sets up Manufacturing Facility in Hyderabad

Skanda Aerospace Technology, based in Hyderabad, establishes an aerospace gear and gear box manufacturing facility in order to serve the defence and commercial aviation sectors.

The company, a joint venture between Hyderabad-based aerospace and defence component maker Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools and US firm Rave Gears, has invested Rs 75 crore in the first phase and plans to invest an additional Rs 150 crore over the next two to three years.

According to reports, this is the country's first facility dedicated to producing aerospace-grade gears.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Industries and IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and Telangana government Director of Aerospace and Defence P.A. Praveen.

"The inauguration of Skanda is a significant step towards strengthening India's aerospace and defence capabilities." "The facility has the potential to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aerospace manufacturing, both in India and globally," said Raghu Vamsi, managing director of Vamsi Vikas.

High precision CNC and complex aerospace gear manufacturing will be prioritised. According to the company, the new facility is outfitted with world-class gear grinding machines.

The facility will be critical in shaping the future of aerospace manufacturing in the region.
