RecycLiCo Battery Materials Inc. ("RecycLiCo"), a leader in sustainable lithium-ion battery recycling, and Nanoramic Laboratories ("Nanoramic"), a leader in innovative energy storage technology, are pleased to announce that Nanoramic has been selected for award negotiations with RecycLiCo as a partner and collaborator on the grant. This collaboration is an important step towards encouraging sustainable practices in the lithium-ion battery industry.
RecycLiCo's technology is centered on recycling and upcycling lithium-ion battery waste into battery-grade goods such lithium compounds and precursor cathode active material (pCAM). This method complements Nanoramic's expertise in electrode fabrication, paving the road for a circular economy in battery manufacturer. RecycLiCo will process production scrap from Nanoramic's demonstration line as part of this agreement, with the goal of producing pCAM and lithium chemicals that meet Nanoramic's battery-grade criteria and are suitable for use in new battery manufacturing.
Recent laboratory test findings (click here) from RecycLiCo and Nanoramic's ongoing collaboration have been positive. RecycLiCo's sophisticated recycling technology processes Nanoramic's NMP-free and PVDF-free electrodes efficiently, decreasing processing steps and resource usage. A major accomplishment is the capacity to remove cathode material from aluminum foil more quickly and without the need of chemical additives, which improves environmental friendliness and streamlines RecycLiCo's fundamental technology.
RecycLiCo Facts
RecycLiCo Battery Materials Inc. is a battery materials firm that specializes in the recycling and manufacture of sustainable lithium-ion batteries. RecycLiCo has created sophisticated technology for recovering battery-grade materials from lithium-ion batteries, addressing the global demand for ecologically responsible energy storage solutions. The patented, closed-loop hydrometallurgical process converts lithium-ion battery waste into battery-grade cathode precursor, lithium hydroxide, and lithium carbonate for direct integration into the re-manufacturing of new lithium-ion batteries with minimal processing steps and up to 99% extraction of lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese.
