In its annual report, the company stated that India will also assist with the establishment of a production line this year to provide two-wheeled manufacturing services, as well as combine the group's BOL (Build Operate Localise) policy to cater to the Southeast Asian two-wheeled electric vehicle market.

'The Company launched the BOL (Build-Operate-Localize) business model two years ago, hoping to generate the triple win scenario of local countries, local partners, and Hon Hai,' according to the paper.

Concerning R&D for four-wheeled electric vehicle drive systems, the report stated that it has placed emphasis on two major technologies: first, the development of forward-thinking AI technology to integrate the resources and capabilities of Hon Hai Research Institute, optimise the design capabilities of motors and drives, and improve the overall efficiency of the drive system to strengthen competitiveness, and; second, the manufacturing advantage of high in-house manufacturing.Horace Luke, CEO and co-founder of Gogoro, previously told Autocar Professional that India has the potential to be an electric vehicle export powerhouse. When discussing his global partnership with Foxconn, he stated, "The battery hardware is all designed by us, but we use Foxconn to localise battery technology here in India."

Foxconn and Gogoro began working together on numerous projects in June 2021, including smart batteries, automotive engineering, and manufacturing. Gogoro is focusing on its own product design, technological development, marketing and branding, extended distribution, and customer service channels by integrating Foxconn's strong production, worldwide capabilities, and top quality.
