TP Solar Ltd, the solar manufacturing division of Tata Power and a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has established a solar cell and module production facility with a capacity of 4.3 GW in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.
This facility enhances India's solar manufacturing abilities while also bolstering Tata Power's mission of promoting sustainable growth and innovation in the renewable energy industry. By generating local jobs, supporting women, and encouraging green business initiatives, it is set to act as a catalyst for the economic growth of Tamil Nadu and the clean energy shift in India. The solar cells and modules manufactured at the Tamil Nadu facility will primarily support the company's current projects, enhancing its supply chain. Aiming for future growth, Tata Power intends to look into possibilities for broader market distribution.
India's largest solar manufacturing facility in a single location is the new 4.3 GW solar cell and module plant, featuring advanced TOPCon and Mono Perc technologies. Aimed at addressing India’s increasing renewable energy needs, it will manufacture high-efficiency solar cells and modules, playing a crucial role in the nation's shift toward clean energy.
Alongside the Tirunelveli plant, the company runs a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that was founded in 1992 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This facility, furnished with state-of-the-art technology, possesses a production capacity of 682 MW for solar modules and 530 MW for solar cells.
