Tata Motors has officially entered the Sri Lankan market with the launch of its all-new passenger and electric vehicle (EV) portfolio. In collaboration with its local partner, DIMO, the Indian automobile giant introduced a range of popular models, including SUVs and electric hatchbacks, at a grand event.

Tata Motors' New Portfolio is the best-selling SUV Tata Punch, Tata Nexon, and Tata Curvv, which is futuristically forward in a class of its own. The company also showcased its highly acclaimed electric hatchback, Tiago.ev, which has already been a hit in places like India, Nepal, and Bhutan, bringing electric mobility more accessible and desirable.

Expressing enthusiasm about the company’s expansion, Yash Khandelwal, Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said, “We are excited to be here in Sri Lanka, marking a new chapter in our international business strategy. Tata Motors has undergone significant transformation over the years, and there is no better way to mark our return than with a new, game-changing product portfolio.”

He further added, “Our offerings are designed to not only captivate the Sri Lankan market but to set new standards — combining bold design, cutting-edge features, top-tier safety, and unmatched after-sales support.”

Rajeev Pandithage, Executive Director of DIMO, highlighted the importance of this partnership and the milestone it represents. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Tata Motors as they become the first passenger vehicle brand to enter Sri Lanka post market reopening. The brand-new ICE and Electric Vehicle range sets new standards in the automobile sector, embodying innovation, safety, and sustainability at a very affordable price point,” he said.

Tata Motors also developed customer faith by offering end-to-end warranties on its vehicles. All passenger vehicles are covered by a three-year or 100,000 km manufacturer's warranty, while electric vehicles carry a three-year or 125,000 km warranty. As a segment, the EV is also given an eight-year or 165,000 km warranty for the high-voltage battery and motor. With the planned expansion of the company to Sri Lanka, Tata Motors will continue its mission of widening its international footprint, providing reliable and sustainable world-class mobility solutions.
