Tata Steel inaugurated a fully automated construction service centre in Uttar Pradesh on September 11 to manufacture reinforced products. The Ghaziabad centre, the company's second such unit after Cuttack in Odisha, will also provide solutions to the construction industry, according to Ashish Anupam, Chairperson, Marketing & Sales, Long Products, Tata Steel, who spoke to the media.

"The company has partnered with channel partner Vikrant Ispat Udyog to launch its first such service centre in western UP to offer customised reinforcement products and solutions to the construction industry," he explained.

This plant will manufacture customised "cut and bend Tata Tiscon TMT rebars, as well as coupler threading." The unit offers downstream solutions to the construction industry such as welded wire mesh and bore pile cages.

The fully automated downstream manufacturing facility has a production capacity of 3,500 TPM (tonnes per month), and the company intends to open 10 more such facilities across the country.

Tata Steel will open a similar fully automated construction service centre in Cuttack, Odisha, in June 2023.
