According to a statement, Uniglobe Travel, which is based in Vancouver, is expanding and bringing on more than a dozen TMCs all over Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Expansion occurred through the acquisition of ITP Network contracts, the global agency consortium based around account networking and a global hotel initiative.

The ITP members now joining Uniglobe Travel will benefit from better technology and supplier choices, a greater global network of partner agencies, and additional support from the Uniglobe Travel Global headquarters in Vancouver, as well as from the regional office in London.

“This move expands our network by adding agencies in a number of key markets, which benefits our existing member agencies, the members we’re welcoming from ITP and their collective clients” said Martin H. Charlwood, president and COO of Uniglobe Travel International, in a statement.

Chris Goddard, owner of Maxim’s Travel in Australia supported the move, stated, “The recent acquisition of ITP into the Uniglobe family has been a seamless and welcoming transition. In today’s travel ecosystem, scale and access are imperative for any company’s growth and I believe Uniglobe is well positioned to support The Maxim’s Group in its core objectives. I look forward to a long and beneficial relationship.”

Uniglobe Travel has almost $4.5 billion in annual systemwide sales volume because of the larger number of ITP agencies, and the other agencies that partnered with Uniglobe in the past quarter. They are represented by TMCs in 50 countries, and have clients in more than 100 countries.
