New facilities would include a palm oil processing and refining unit in Kamareddy District and a manufacturing unit for bottle caps. This is the most significant achievement for the 'Telangana Rising' delegation, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, at the prestigious global forum.
Hindustan Unilever, the Indian arm of global fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) giant, will set up two manufacturing units in Telangana. The move comes after Telangana, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with Unilever, CEO, Hein Schumacher, during the annual conference of the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos, Switzerland.
Welcoming Unilever to Telangana, the Chief Minister said, “We are here to fully support the major entry and growth of Unilever in our State. We must grow together, but without losing sight of larger sustainability and fairness goals for people and the planet.l”.
Chief Minister Reddy spoke about the strategic advantages of Telangana, it is located centrally, connecting southern, eastern, western, and central India; has robust supply chain & logistics infrastructure; a consumption-driven market; ease of doing business; and progressive policies that attract global investors.
Hein Schumacher, CEO of Unilever, said, “He is confident about the potential of Telangana and has plans to set up the manufacturing units with full support from the state government. The bottle cap manufacturing unit will help reduce reliance on imports and will be a part of Unilever's overall goals toward operational efficiency and sustainability”.
This initiative will lead to large-scale job offers and enhance the state's industrial base, thereby establishing Telangana as a highly attractive destination for investors around the world.
