The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) signed a Rs 4,000 crore agreement with the UK-based Indian Partnership Forum (IPF) on the third and final day of the Global Investors Summit for developing data centres and industries manufacturing microchips, medical devices, and electronic items off the motorway.
The Indian Policy Forum (IPF), founded with the support of the Indian High Commission, is a non-profit think tank for policy advocacy that promotes the UK-India bilateral relationship. The organisation is made up of representatives from academia, business, and the arts, as well as scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs.
When the UK was the partner country, the agreement was signed by IPF president Mohan Kaul and YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh.
Singh stated that an agreement was signed for the establishment of an innovation centre with Indians living abroad, which would result in the creation of approximately 20,000 new jobs in the region. The IPF requested 125 acres for this purpose.
The CEO also praised the YEIDA's investment-friendly environment. Alex Chalk, the UK's minister of state for defence, represented the 'Great Britain' contingent. During the session, seven other MoUs were signed with UK companies. According to officials, all of the agreements were presented at the event on Sunday after being vetted by the Indian embassy in the United Kingdom.
